A OmniMD Case Study
Eastside Dermatology, a three‑provider practice in the Detroit area with about 20,800 annual patient visits, faced overflowing paper charts, an outdated practice management system, and challenges with appointment scheduling and billing. The practice also needed a CCHIT‑certified EHR to qualify for Medicare Meaningful Use incentives, so they evaluated and selected OmniMD (OmniMD EHR and OmniMD PM) to address these issues.
OmniMD implemented its dermatology‑customized EHR and integrated practice management/revenue cycle software, providing responsive support and seamless integration. As a result, Eastside Dermatology significantly reduced paper storage needs created by roughly 2,000 new patients per year, improved billing processes and revenue, eliminated charting errors, and successfully attested for Meaningful Use incentives in 2012–2013.
