Millersville University, an 8,000-student campus in Lancaster County, needed a reliable way to communicate instantly with students, staff and visitors during crises and lockdowns. To address this, the university implemented Omnilert (branded on campus as MU|Alert) to provide a centralized, multi-channel emergency notification system.

Omnilert’s web-based alert platform let administrators send simultaneous time-sensitive messages during a multi-emergency lockdown, notifying thousands and also registering local media; enrollment in MU|Alert rose from about 2,000 to over 4,000. Within 20 minutes of a targeted alert the suspect was identified and located, the suspect was apprehended, and the campus was given an “all clear” after roughly 90 minutes — demonstrating Omnilert’s measurable impact on rapid, coordinated emergency response.
