School District Fills Data Gaps Security Officials Overcome Regulatory Software Limitations

Evergreen Public Schools (Vancouver, WA) serves 36 campuses and more than 26,000 students and found its FERPA-approved student information system inadequate for incident-level tracking, statistical reporting, and communication with neighboring districts, contracted security and law enforcement. To fill these gaps, Evergreen implemented the Omnigo platform (Omnigo’s incident reporting solution) in 2015.

Omnigo integrated data across schools into a searchable incident database, letting officers pull student records and photos, view prior behavior for transient students, log associations between students, and share information with law enforcement; nighttime security also uses Omnigo to report maintenance, vandalism and break-ins. By using the Omnigo platform Evergreen improved data integration, incident tracking and reporting, cross-property communication, and its ability to identify trends such as drug activity and vandalism across the district.
