Putnam County Sheriff's Office - Customer Case Study

Putnam County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) in Florida had relied on the QueTel evidence management system (now part of Omnigo) since 2001 to manage roughly 93,000 items with two full‑time evidence staff. In 2015 PCSO evaluated a new “one‑stop shop” RMS but chose to retain and upgrade their QueTel/Evidence TraQ solution from Omnigo to modernize workflows while keeping a proven evidence platform.

Omnigo’s upgrade added digital evidence management and integration with PCSO’s RMS to automatically upload evidence, eliminate manual data entry, and generate automated purge notices. The Evidence TraQ solution enforces view‑only access to preserve chain of custody, removes the need to burn and mail CDs/DVDs, and has saved labor hours, postage and storage costs; officers and evidence techs report easier input, more timely purging of outdated items, and second‑by‑second audit trails that often avoid unnecessary court appearances.
