Forsyth Technical Community College, a 12,000‑student institution spread across nine campuses, faced gaps in overnight coverage, inconsistent incident reporting, and limited resources that left the campus vulnerable. Chief Carolyn McMackin identified the need for a data-driven shift and adopted Omnigo’s records management (part of the Omnigo public safety software suite) to replace spreadsheet-based reporting and build a more resilient safety program.
Using Omnigo’s Records Management and related modules (Dispatch, Clery/NIBRS reporting, investigations, etc.), the college centralized incident data, enabling clear analysis and evidence-based decisions. Omnigo’s solution gave leadership the visibility needed to secure funding and station sworn officers at off‑site campuses, improve emergency preparedness, foster a culture of documentation, and advance the department’s goal of becoming North Carolina’s first accredited community college police department.
