How Skyhook Delivers Geospatial Insights

Skyhook, a leader in mobile positioning and location intelligence, needed to deliver precise geospatial insights even when GPS is unreliable (indoors or in dense urban areas). Traditional analytics forced down‑sampling of huge datasets, hindering quality checks, client demos, and sales. To solve this, Skyhook selected OmniSci—using its GPU in‑memory SQL engine and the OmniSci Immerse dashboard—for the speed and dependability required for interactive point mapping at extreme scale.

OmniSci enabled Skyhook to map billions of data points in real time and to interact with very large tables (Skyhook runs 5–10 billion transactions daily, ~100k tps, and routinely works with 500M‑row datasets at ~500k row speeds). The result was elimination of down‑sampling, improved point‑mapping accuracy and QA, faster ingestion and small‑dataset checks, and more interactive customer dashboards that help optimize advertising spend and campaign performance—strengthening Skyhook’s client relationships and analytical depth.
