How Cahaba Media Group partnered with Omeda to reduce newsletter churn by implementing an automated re-engagement process

Cahaba Media Group faced the challenge of newsletter subscriber churn, which was negatively impacting their email engagement metrics and deliverability. They partnered with Omeda to implement an automated re-engagement process using their Customer Data Platform (CDP) and marketing automation tool, Odyssey, aiming to clean out unengaged subscribers while also attempting to win a portion of them back.

The Omeda solution involved a four-part automated workflow: defining unengaged subscribers, running a month-long re-engagement email voyage, automatically moving non-responders to a suspended status, and monitoring for any subsequent re-engagement. This process, powered by Omeda's tools, successfully reduced churn by over 11% for their newsletters and reactivated more than 3% of previously suspended subscribers, significantly improving list health and engagement.
