Omada Identity Suite Optimizes Identity Management Processes

Vattenfall, the German branch of the major European energy company, faced strict requirements under the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) to ensure role-based access, segregation of duties (SoD), and fast, auditable identity documentation. To address these challenges Vattenfall selected Omada’s identity management solution (Omada Identity, built on Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager 2010) to streamline access provisioning, enforce SoD controls, and provide regulator-ready reporting.

Omada, with implementation support from Avanade, deployed Omada Identity to automate onboarding, transfers and offboarding, manage Active Directory, SAP and Windows Managed Folders, and deliver compliance reports. The solution went live for 16,000 users in five months, cut provisioning time from about two weeks to a few hours, helped Vattenfall pass external audits, and materially reduced operational risk and resource effort.
