Flughafen Zürich AG moves from Omada’s on-prem solution to Omada Identity Cloud

Flughafen Zürich AG, the owner and operator of Zurich Airport, had relied on Omada’s on‑prem IAM solution since 2011 to allocate and verify access rights. By 2021 the heavily customized on‑prem deployment raised concerns about operations, standard conformity, and the effort required for maintenance and upgrades, prompting Flughafen Zürich to evaluate migrating to Omada Identity Cloud from vendor Omada.

Omada worked with Flughafen Zürich to migrate the legacy Omada Identity system to Omada Identity Cloud between April 2022 and February 2023. The cloud implementation now manages identity and access for the majority of applications, connecting numerous SAP systems, Active Directories, LMS, Confluence and HR tools, and implementing 36 processes largely to the Omada IdentityPROCESS+ standard. The move delivered higher performance, reduced complexity, easier maintenance and upgrades, rapid hypercare resolution (issues handled within 14 days), and was completed on time and within budget by Omada.
