Oliver plants 5,000 trees with OLIVER Agency's carbon-negative NFTree

OLIVER, an agency that builds and runs in-house agencies for brands, faced the challenge of demonstrating that its brand promise of "better, faster, for less" could also be good for the planet. The agency sought to defy the conventional wisdom that NFTs, a major creative opportunity, inherently carry a large, damaging carbon footprint.

The vendor, OLIVER, created a carbon-negative NFT called the NFTree. They partnered with an artist to craft the artwork in virtual reality and used the eco-friendly Polygon blockchain to mint it. Crucially, for every NFT gifted, OLIVER planted a tree in the Amazon, making each one carbon negative. This solution generated 11 new business leads, converted four live projects worth £12 million, and resulted in the planting of 5000 trees, which will offset an estimated 120,000kg of CO2 per year.
