Case Study: British Transport Police achieves doubled minority recruitment and streamlined hiring with Oleeo

A Oleeo Case Study

Preview of the British Transport Police Case Study

Making The British Transport Police A Diverse Workforce

The British Transport Police (BTP), the national rail police force for England, Scotland and Wales, needed to fill more than 550 vacancies a year across 1,100+ roles while better reflecting the diverse communities it serves. BTP sought to attract more applicants—particularly women and black and minority ethnic candidates—and engaged Oleeo, using the Oleeo Recruiting Enablement Platform for Police to reshape its recruitment process.

Oleeo implemented its Recruiting Enablement Platform for Police to streamline applications from attraction through onboarding, enable talent pools and events, make applications more candidate‑friendly, and deliver detailed reporting and filters. As a result, Oleeo helped BTP double the number of successful female and black and minority ethnic applicants, improve use of positive action provisions, maintain continuous engagement with promising candidates, and provide real‑time compliance reporting—accelerating time to hire and supporting the force’s diversity targets.
