New Balance, a major sports footwear maker with manufacturing in the US and UK, wanted to convert its large, engaged social following into on-site traffic and e-commerce activity. Although the brand generated significant social buzz, it needed a way to bring that engagement back to newbalance.com and make user content work harder for sales.
Working with Olapic, New Balance launched the “Excellence in Action” UGC campaign—displayed on the homepage and gallery wall and curated through six hashtags (including #MADEINUSA). The program collected thousands of customer photos, drove over 1 million impressions and 300,000 on-site interactions, with visitors viewing an average of 9+ photos per visit; return visitors engage with UGC three times more than first-timers, demonstrating clear influence on purchase behavior.
