ESSIE - Customer Case Study

Essie, known for whimsical color names and “no chip” nail polish and sold in over 250,000 salons worldwide, partnered with Olapic in 2014 to convert its large English- and French-language social audiences into site engagement. The challenge was to drive followers back to the site and use user-generated content (UGC) to showcase seasonal colors across bilingual sites.

Essie Canada implemented Olapic-powered UGC on the homepage, galleries and product pages, curating the best #essielove posts and automatically syndicating them to the French site. The results include stronger onsite engagement—visitors interact with an average of 7.5 UGC photos, over 19% of return visitors interact with UGC, UGC drives 40% higher engagement than brand photos, and Olapic helped discover 30% of Essie’s Instagram fans, with many users clicking “where to buy” to complete purchases.
