ABI creates a 13,700 sq ft connected London headquarters with Oktra

The ABI, a major insurance association, faced the challenge of creating a new London headquarters that would move beyond traditional design to better connect its people and members. They partnered with workplace design vendor Oktra to develop a human-centric, open-plan environment that supports diverse working styles without physical barriers.

Oktra implemented a solution featuring a cohesive single-floor layout defined by subtle spatial cues instead of walls, creating zones for both focused work and social interaction. The design prioritized natural light, acoustic control, and inclusive amenities. The result was a tangible improvement in workplace dynamics, with employees spending more time in the office and reconnecting with one another. The project also achieved SKA Silver certification for its environmental credentials.
