Takeda, a global biopharmaceutical leader, needed to unify many fragmented digital experiences across its brands and business units as it expanded through mergers and acquisitions. The company wanted a single login for patients, providers, donors, employees, and contractors, while also improving security, scalability, and trust across its websites and portals. Takeda chose Okta and its Okta Platform to modernize identity and access management.

With Okta, Takeda launched TakedaID, combining Okta Workforce Identity and Okta Customer Identity into one unified identity platform. The results include 3.6 million registered users, zero downtime since launch in April 2020, support for 500 authentications per minute with bursts up to 5,000, and identity deployment that is 5x faster than an in-house solution. Okta also helped Takeda cut website component deployment time by five times and quickly onboard hundreds of thousands of users after M&A activity.
