Pret a Manger, the global sandwich chain, needed to simplify identity and access management across a complex mix of SaaS, custom, and on-premises systems. Managing access manually for 12,000 employees and branch staff was creating IT overhead, slow support requests, and security challenges, especially as the company prepared to roll out a new Workday HR system. Okta Workforce Identity was selected to help unify and streamline access.
Okta implemented Universal Directory, Lifecycle Management, API Access Management, Single Sign-On, and Multi-Factor Authentication to automate provisioning and give staff a single, secure login. The result was 35 applications integrated with Okta, a successful proof of concept completed in under two weeks, and a full rollout that made it possible to add remote-work access in hours during COVID-19. With Okta, Pret reduced IT maintenance, improved user experience, and strengthened security across 573 locations.
