Case Study: Renault achieves seamless race car transportation with OIA Global

Renault transports 24 race cars and 60 tons of equipment with OIA Global

The customer, Renault, faced a significant logistics challenge for its Formula 1 team. The standard method of shipping race cars via a B747F aircraft was too costly, while a B777F did not have sufficient space or compatible racking for the entire fleet. To overcome this, the vendor, OIA Global, was tasked with creating a completely new automotive logistics solution for the transportation of race cars and equipment.

OIA Global designed and built a unique car rack system based on a wooden box that fit within a B777F's cargo space, a solution they tested successfully. They then chartered an Etihad Cargo B777F to manage the entire shipment, which included securing customs clearance and handling at the Yas Marina Circuit. The solution enabled OIA to successfully transport 24 race cars and accompanying equipment with a total payload of 60 tons for Renault.
