A OhMD Case Study
Joya Child and Family Development, a non-profit Neurodevelopmental Center of Excellence in eastern Washington serving nearly 300 children annually, faced challenges reaching families and maintaining attendance—issues intensified by COVID-19 and virtual learning. To increase access and simplify communication so staff could spend more time delivering care, Joya began using OhMD for family texting and video visits in November 2020.
Using OhMD’s two-way texting, video visits, and auto-signature features, Joya made scheduling and follow-up easier for busy families and reduced reliance on phone calls. The results were measurable: messages and video visits rose 65% in December 2020 over the first month, were projected to grow another 28% by January 2021, and overall OhMD usage increased 111% in three months — trends that boosted family engagement, reduced no-shows, and improved continuity and outcomes for children.
