Ayana Therapy, a virtual mental health center founded to match BIPOC and immigrant clients with culturally competent therapists, faced reliability problems with its previous messaging and video tools that caused client drop-off and frequent tech complaints. In January 2021 Ayana began using OhMD’s platform for HIPAA‑compliant SMS texting, forms, and video visits to provide a more dependable, user-friendly way for clients and therapists to communicate.

OhMD’s unified, secure texting and video solution reduced client complaints (Ayana had been receiving up to 10–15 support emails daily) and made scheduling and joining sessions far easier; in one 30‑day period (Mar–Apr 2021) Ayana therapists logged 302 hours of video sessions via OhMD. The platform also boosted appointment bookings, cut no‑shows, sped onboarding for new therapists as Ayana grew to over 200 clinicians, and lowered staff anxiety about day‑to‑day tech issues.
