Charity turns to OGL for IT support and full server upgrade

Winston’s Wish, a UK children’s bereavement charity with around 60 employees, faced limited internal IT resources and an ageing server estate running Windows Server 2003 that was approaching end of support. Seeking a nationwide full-support partner, Winston’s Wish engaged OGL Computer to provide professional IT management, hosted email and a planned server upgrade to ensure continuity and better coverage for staff across Cheltenham and Horsham.

OGL Computer conducted a network review, pre-installation survey and design, then virtualised the charity’s three servers into a consolidated Windows Server environment, deployed hosted email, implemented proactive monitoring and a Service Desk, and upgraded the site-to-site network speed. The September 2014 rollout improved efficiency, reliability and performance, avoided the risks of Windows Server 2003 end-of-life, enabled remote fixes often before users noticed issues, and put renewals and health checks on a managed schedule.
