A Digital Dog Inspires Real Adoptions

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, a UK-based non-profit focussed on rehoming rescued animals, faced the challenge of raising public awareness about the need for dog adoption. Many animal lovers in Britain were not considering adoption as they did not regularly encounter strays. The vendor, OgilvyOne Worldwide, was tasked with creatively connecting the shelter with potential adopters.

OgilvyOne Worldwide developed an experiential "Looking for You" campaign featuring Barley, a rescue dog, who followed shoppers via digital billboards in a London mall using RFID technology from distributed leaflets. This solution significantly raised awareness and engagement, driving over 2,000 unique visits to the campaign site and generating 235,000 interactions on Facebook. The effort resulted in over 200 potential adoptive homes found via Twitter and won multiple industry awards for its innovation.
