Assurant is a global risk‑management company with about 14,500 employees that needed to modernize to meet digital customer expectations and speed up near‑real‑time service. Its legacy on‑premises tools and four disconnected intranets created a fragmented, slow workflow for claims, sales, and product teams, while mobile field staff and a BYOD environment required stronger security and device management.

Assurant moved to Microsoft Office 365—including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online (a single intranet called “Connect”), Yammer, Skype for Business, Office 365 Video, and Intune/Azure Rights Management—to unify collaboration, automate processes, and secure mobile access. The change automated email routing (saving a manager about half a day per week), sped claims assessment with field photo/video uploads, reduced travel through virtual meetings, boosted employee engagement with video and social tools, and delivered greater productivity while maintaining regulatory security.
