Case Study: Rackspace achieves unified, single‑pane‑of‑glass cloud monitoring with Office 365

A Office 365 Case Study

Preview of the Rackspace Case Study

Rackspace monitors a world of cloud performance data through a single pane of glass

Rackspace, a global managed cloud provider serving thousands of customers including more than half of the Fortune 100, needed a unified, scalable monitoring solution when it added Microsoft Azure to its platform lineup. The company required customizable, real‑time alerting and reporting, multicloud and OS coverage, automated onboarding, tight security, and native integration with its proprietary incident‑management and ticketing system to continue delivering its “Fanatical Support.”

Rackspace implemented Microsoft Operations Management Suite (OMS) with Log Analytics and Azure Monitor, using automation and ARM templates plus a webhook-based intermediary to integrate alerts into its ticketing system. The SaaS solution enabled per‑customer workspaces, rapid onboarding (minutes), customizable alerts tied to automated runbooks, native Azure security, and elastic scalability—allowing Rackspace to monitor thousands of VMs and hundreds of terabytes while improving responsiveness, reducing infrastructure overhead, and offering customers self‑service, near real‑time insights.
