MEDNAX-affiliated company boosts efficiency of newborn hearing program with StaffHub

MEDNAX Services, through its affiliate Pediatrix Medical Group, runs a large newborn hearing screening program that screens more than 850,000 babies a year across 400+ sites in 30 states. The organization struggled with scheduling and mobility: its legacy OpenText calendaring didn’t scale with rapid growth and required coordinators and screeners to use ward computers, creating inefficiencies and risk of coverage gaps when babies arrive unpredictably.

To fix this, MEDNAX rolled out Microsoft 365 and deployed Microsoft StaffHub as a mobile-first scheduling solution, onboarding more than 2,000 screeners and coordinators in three months. StaffHub (with SharePoint and other Office 365 tools) enabled real-time mobile schedules, easy shift swaps, secure access controls, faster onboarding and better document access, resulting in streamlined staffing, improved coverage, increased employee engagement, and stronger support for uninterrupted newborn hearing screening and patient outcomes.
