A Office 365 Case Study

Manufacturer Realizes Vision of One Global Company with Cloud-Based Business Tools

The VELUX Group, a global manufacturer of skylights and roof windows with manufacturing in 11 countries and sales in nearly 40, needed to become “One VELUX” by reducing duplicate administrative functions and improving cross‑border collaboration. Outdated IT and fragmented business processes were limiting efficiency and tying up resources that the company wanted to reinvest in product innovation and stronger local sales support.

VELUX migrated 5,500 employees to Microsoft Office 365 (including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Skype for Business and Office 365 ProPlus) with Accenture and Microsoft Services, completing the rollout over six weekends. The move cut hardware and licensing costs by up to 5 million DKK annually, accelerated web conferencing and mobile access, increased field sales productivity, and enabled a streamlined global finance model with regional managers—freeing funds and improving collaboration to boost innovation and local customer service.
