Hershey Enhances Global Brands and Productivity with Cloud Technology

The Hershey Company, a global snacks leader, faced a rapidly changing, digitally driven market but was hindered by geographic silos, heavy IT administration, and the need for faster, more connected collaboration and operational insight. To stay competitive and better understand evolving consumer tastes, Hershey sought a cloud-based transformation that would free employees from device- and location-bound work styles and bring real-time visibility into manufacturing and customer data.

Hershey deployed Microsoft Office 365 (OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Yammer) and built a SharePoint-based intranet called The Conche (with BrightStarr/Unily), while adopting Azure Machine Learning, Power BI, and IoT sensors to drive predictive analytics. The changes reduced infrastructure and maintenance overhead, cut 1,250 audit hours annually, saved a supplier team roughly 70 hours per week, accelerated marketing collaboration and eLearning adoption, and enabled real-time production monitoring and optimization for ongoing cost and quality improvements.
