Henkel calls on cloud telephony to improve global conversation and efficiency

Henkel, a global consumer-goods company with more than 10,000 employees, set out to modernize its workplace communications and reduce reliance on traditional PBX systems. The challenge was to enable seamless, secure collaboration across dispersed teams, support mobility and work‑from‑home, and cut travel and telephony support costs while keeping the experience simple and familiar for employees.

Henkel deployed Skype for Business Online Cloud PBX and PSTN Conferencing as part of Office 365, using Surface Hub and one business number per user to unify voice, video and content sharing. Adoption rose rapidly—80% of meeting invites now include a Skype link—while IT management was simplified through a single admin center. The move delivered faster, more efficient meetings and expected telephony savings (e.g., ~two‑thirds in Belgium, ~half in Rocky Hill), reduced travel, and quicker onboarding for acquisitions.
