A Office 365 Case Study

glassybaby empowers Firstline Workers with intuitive Microsoft Office 365 scheduling

glassybaby is a Seattle-based maker of handmade glass votives that donates 10% of revenue to healing charities. As the company grew to multiple stores, its retail teams struggled with schedule management: Google Apps hit data caps, schedules were printed on-store walls, managers spent hours creating rosters, and shift swaps required calls, texts, and manual penciling—causing missed shifts and confusion.

glassybaby moved to Microsoft Office 365 (including Office 365 ProPlus, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Exchange) so Firstline workers could view schedules, request and approve shift swaps, chat, and get reminders from their phones. The change saved store managers three to six hours a week, improved shift coverage and communication, and fostered team camaraderie while providing secure cloud storage and a scalable toolkit for growth.
