Financial Firm Chooses Office 365 over Google Apps, Gains Highly Secure Email

Goodbody, a Dublin-based wealth management and stockbroking firm with about 250 employees, needed to replace its aging Lotus Notes messaging system that caused poor calendaring, clunky file access and integration issues. The firm evaluated Google Apps but rejected it because it lacked the access controls and EU data residency assurances required by its highly regulated business.

Goodbody chose Microsoft Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Lync Online and Office 365 ProPlus), engaged partner Ergo to migrate email, and signed an E3 enterprise agreement. The move delivered granular security and EU-based data storage, seamless integration with Microsoft desktop apps, offline access to documents, predictable per-user subscription costs, and a scalable platform the firm can build on.
