Case Study: Cummins achieves accelerated productivity and global collaboration with Office 365

A Office 365 Case Study

Preview of the Cummins Case Study

Cummins puts productivity, innovation into overdrive with Microsoft 365

Cummins, a global manufacturer of diesel and alternative‑fuel engines with more than 50,000 employees, faced a modern workplace challenge: break down corporate silos, modernize dated productivity tools, and secure and manage a massive, distributed information estate (including 1.8 PB of unstructured content and millions of daily emails) so teams could collaborate faster and drive product innovation.

Cummins adopted Microsoft 365 (Office 365, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Yammer, Skype for Business) and launched a three‑tier content framework and new intranet, Cummins Connect, with Microsoft FastTrack support. The rollout doubled intranet engagement (50,000+ monthly users vs 30,000 before), produced 16,000+ sites and 31 million files moved to OneDrive (81 TB), improved search and compliance, reduced information risk, sped customer service, and enabled faster, more secure global collaboration that supports ongoing innovation.
