Case Study: 2XU achieves scalable, cost-effective global email and faster remote access with Office 365

A Office 365 Case Study

Preview of the 2XU Case Study

Clothing manufacturer designs a platform for future growth with Microsoft Exchange Online

Melbourne-based sportswear maker 2XU, founded in 2005, had grown rapidly (about 25% annually) to around 60 staff and multiple retail outlets and distributors worldwide. That growth—and heavy email use for sending large graphic design files between head office, stores and offshore factories—left its on-premises email system struggling with storage, slow remote access and frequent archiving needs.

Working with Microsoft partner Combo, 2XU migrated mailboxes to Microsoft Exchange Online (Office 365) over a three-month staged rollout. The move delivered virtually unlimited mailbox capacity, faster and more reliable remote access, built-in antivirus/anti-spam and backup, and higher staff productivity; it also reduced three-year costs (A$47k vs A$53k projected for on-premises) and lower upfront spend, while positioning the business to adopt additional cloud services.
