Asambeauty, a beauty retailer with more than 500 products from its own brands on asambeauty.de, wanted to improve cross- and upselling recommendations beyond a traditional RECO tool. The existing product suggestions were largely based on similar customers’ interests and often ignored the individual needs and shopping context of visitors.
ODOSCOPE implemented situation-related recommendations using its Operational Intelligence Platform, delivering personalized product sorting for both known and anonymous users via JavaScript and later a server-side REST API integration. In a four-month A/B test, ODOSCOPE drove around a 4% uplift in purchased products and profit per visit on product detail pages, with sales rising by 11% for tablet users, leading asambeauty to fully replace its previous RECO tool with ODOSCOPE.
