Walinga, a Guelph, Ontario manufacturer of engineered transportation equipment, wanted to improve the efficiency of its robotic welding process as production ramped up. The company was spending significant time manually programming its FANUC robot cell and needed a way to reduce downtime, improve flexibility, and better support future automation growth.

OCTOPUZ provided offline robot programming and simulation software to Walinga, along with custom welding training and implementation support. With OCTOPUZ, Walinga was able to program parts while the robot stayed in production, cutting programming time from about 2–3 hours to about 15 minutes and reducing cell downtime while also improving smoothness and quality of robot motion.
