Case Study: Fibreline achieves faster, more flexible robot programming with OCTOPUZ and Universal Robots

A OCTOPUZ Case Study

Preview of the Universal Robots Case Study

Universal Robots and OCTOPUZ work together to automate Fibreline’s manufacturing process while providing flexibility for the future

Universal Robots customer Fibreline, the UK’s largest independently owned upholstery cushion fillings manufacturer, needed a faster way to create tufting holes in foam and later hit another bottleneck in manually programming robot paths from customer-supplied DXF files. Using OCTOPUZ robot programming software with UR10 collaborative robots, Fibreline sought a more flexible, efficient way to automate its drilling process and reduce downtime.

OCTOPUZ enabled offline robot programming, DXF-to-path conversion, and direct posting in URP code for on-controller edits, helping Fibreline keep robots in production while programs were prepared. With OCTOPUZ, Fibreline reported saving approximately 20% of programming time, along with far greater flexibility for tweaking programs and significantly less downtime.
