OTC Daihen needed a way to program its robots more efficiently and expand support for its welding applications. OCTOPUZ, a robot programming software provider, was used to help integrate offline programming with OTC Daihen’s robotics equipment.

OCTOPUZ successfully tested code integration with an OTC Daihen FDB4 robot and added support for OTC Daihen’s welding features, including multilayer welds, stitch welding, touch sensing, seam tracking, and downhill welding. OCTOPUZ also expanded its CAD catalog with OTC Daihen robots and positioners, enabling users to build robotic weld cells and generate programs more easily, though no specific measurable performance metrics were provided.
