AGT Robotics, a leader in automated industrial equipment, needed a way to fully program a complex robotic welding line offline and more efficiently than traditional teach-pendant methods. They turned to OCTOPUZ robot programming software to support their BeamMaster Weld system for structural steel fabrication, including a KUKA robot and external axes.

Using OCTOPUZ, AGT Robotics was able to program the welding process offline, simulate touch sensing and multi-pass operations, and coordinate a linear rail and external axis with the robot. OCTOPUZ also helped reduce path generation time by at least 50 percent, improved collision avoidance, and enabled faster, more flexible part placement even when parts were slightly mispositioned or differed from the CAD model.
