Unily, an enterprise employee‑experience SaaS platform hosted in Microsoft Azure, was struggling to scale manual, time‑consuming deployments that often required weekend work and caused customer downtime of around an hour. To automate processes, ensure compliance, and reduce customer impact, Unily selected Octopus Deploy to manage and accelerate its deployment pipeline.

Unily implemented Octopus Deploy (using step templates, Runbooks, the Octopus API, ServiceNow integration and Triggers) integrated with Azure DevOps and its homegrown automation to enable self‑service upgrades and a dedicated deployment team. The results: downtime fell from ~1 hour to 9.5 minutes, monthly deployments rose from ~200 to 3,000 (average 25 minutes), failure rate dropped to 1.2%, and VM costs were reduced by about $40,000 per month.
