Tietoevry’s HR & Payroll team, supporting thousands of customers with a mix of technologies from COBOL to TypeScript and .NET, faced complex, manual deployment processes and rising overhead as each customer required different installation and verification steps. To address needs for automation, tenanted deployments, and modernization, Tietoevry turned to Octopus Deploy (using Tenanted deployments, Runbooks, and Octopus’s infrastructure, variable and secrets management features).

Octopus Deploy helped Tietoevry standardize delivery across the product lifecycle, automate routine tasks with Runbooks, and manage customer-specific configurations with tenanted deployments, eliminating the need for per-customer specialist training. The result: deployments became repeatable and faster — down from reserving two days per customer (plus a week for QA→live verification) to under half a day — with more frequent releases, lower risk, and reduced operational cost.
