Skandia went from quarterly deployments to 10,000 deployments a month with Octopus

Skandia, a Swedish financial services company with close to 1.9 million customers, faced complex, risky manual deployments that took two days each and were only feasible once per quarter, relying on 30+ page checklists and many people to coordinate. To break this bottleneck, Skandia turned to Octopus Deploy to automate and standardize their release processes.

Using Octopus Deploy, Skandia migrated workflows into automated pipelines (including step templates, Runbooks, and ServiceNow integration), consolidated deployments into a single space, and added RBAC guardrails so teams could deploy safely. The result: near 100% automated, repeatable processes, about 400 runbooks, and a jump from quarterly releases to over 10,000 deployments per month across 1,000 projects, with far fewer people required per deployment.
