Case Study: Olo achieves twice-daily deployments of hundreds of microservices with Octopus Deploy

A Octopus Deploy Case Study

Preview of the Olo Case Study

Olo deploys hundreds of microservices twice daily with Octopus

Olo, a leading restaurant commerce ecosystem serving over 600 brands and processing more than 2 million orders per day, needed to manage highly complex, tenantized deployments that integrate with 300+ technology partners while scaling engineering teams and meeting security/compliance requirements. To standardize and automate release management and enable frequent, reliable releases, Olo adopted Octopus Deploy.

Using Octopus Deploy—including Config as Code, Tenants, step templates and automated deployments—Olo automated a business-critical project with 116 steps and 30 child projects, enabling teams to deploy up to twice daily, reduce deployment time to 17 minutes, and run releases across roughly 600 on-demand environments. Octopus Deploy cut support tickets dramatically (often achieving single-ticket deployments), streamlined repeatable deployments, and freed engineers to focus on product innovation.
