How Intelligent Medical Objects moved from quarterly to daily deployments with Octopus

Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO) is a healthcare data enablement company that connects patient records with clinical and billing codes across 4,500+ US hospitals. Facing a complex, multi-tenant environment (600+ Git repos, 150 Azure DevOps projects, multi-region AWS) IMO struggled with manual, inconsistent deployments and unclear ownership between developers and the Global Hosting Organization. In 2015 they chose Octopus Deploy to modernize their CD layer and meet requirements for multi-tenancy, DevOps practices, and higher deployment frequency.

Octopus Deploy standardized IMO’s CI/CD pipeline with an “everything as code” approach, API-driven automation, Terraform and AWS integration, step templates, and automated triggers to provision and configure new servers. As a result IMO moved from quarterly releases to weekly—or several times per day—deployments, reduced manual verification and late-night work, and shifted production ownership to 18 DevOps teams; deployments that once took hours or days now run in minutes, with consistent, repeatable releases across environments.
