EB Games, Australia’s largest video game and pop‑culture retailer, faced scaling and modernization challenges as it moved away from a monolithic ASP.NET platform and manual deployments. To support containerization, automation and growth, EB Games adopted Octopus Deploy to automate releases and transition from Windows VM deployments toward cloud‑native infrastructure.

Octopus Deploy replaced most custom scripts and centralized configuration management, using its built‑in “Deploy to Amazon ECS” step to move to Fargate‑backed ECS clusters and containerize four microservices while integrating with Bitbucket and TeamCity. The result: fewer errors, reduced maintenance overhead, shared team responsibility for deployments, and time savings measured in thousands of hours — all enabled by Octopus Deploy.
