Votorantim Cimentos North America (VCNA) faced a significant challenge in tracking and managing physical Proof of Delivery (POD) documents for its concrete deliveries, which were often missing and led to lost revenue and high write-offs. The decentralized storage of these critical papers made securing payment and responding to audits a labor-intensive process. To address this, the company partnered with vendor Octacom for a Proof of Delivery and Accounts Receivable Automation solution.

Octacom implemented a system where PODs are couriered to their facility for digitization or uploaded digitally via web portal, email, or mobile. These documents are then made fully searchable and accessible through Octacom's Odiss™ platform, which integrates with VCNA's SAP system. This solution provided VCNA with full transparency over its documents, minimized time spent on collections and audits, and secured a substantial return on investment. Following this success, Octacom was subsequently engaged to also automate VCNA's accounts payable process.
