Central Valley School District upgrades 24 schools with OCC cabling and 850 wireless access points

The Central Valley School District, a K-12 public school system in Washington, faced the challenge of upgrading its technology infrastructure to support growing enrollment and integrate communications, security, and computing systems. For this large-scale project, they selected Optical Cable Corporation (OCC) to provide rugged Cat 6A cabling for the installation of 850 wireless access points.

OCC's solution involved using its strong, pre-terminated cable assemblies and cassettes, which were easy to install and saved on labor costs. The rugged construction of OCC's products allowed for minimal disruption during installation while school was in session. The result was a reliable, district-wide network providing a secure wireless environment with 10-gigabyte bandwidth to each classroom, supporting a one-to-one computing device ratio for over 12,000 students.
