Sumitovant Biopharma, a pharmaceuticals company, needed a secure way for its Digital Innovators to create visualizations and analyze production data without exposing its internal network or compromising security, auditability, and tracking requirements. Prior to working with Observable, much of this work was done manually with custom Python Flask apps, HTML templates, and handwritten JavaScript, making it difficult to scale across the organization.

Using Observable notebooks, Sumitovant connected securely to internal databases and built interactive dashboards for patient discovery and go-to-market analysis. Observable enabled faster iteration, better collaboration, and richer visualizations that uncovered new insights for stakeholders, including one initiative that led to a 20% increase in the number of people engaged as key opinion leaders.
