A Observable Case Study
Float Protocol is building a decentralized monetary system around its FLOAT token, which is designed to “float” rather than stay pegged to the U.S. dollar like a stablecoin. The team needed a better way to explain complex Dutch auction mechanics, target-price changes, and long-term monetary policy to readers in a way that was clear, interactive, and trustworthy. They used Observable to turn a traditional whitepaper into a more accessible, data-driven litepaper.
With Observable, Float Protocol created an interactive litepaper where readers can explore auction behavior under different market conditions, inspect the code and data directly, and verify the calculations for themselves. The web-based format made publishing easy, avoided local software compatibility issues, and allowed the team to test scenarios more quickly; the result was a more transparent and engaging way to communicate the protocol, with live data, interactive models, and simplified explanations of a highly complex system.
