Case Study: NSW Roads and Maritime Services achieves safer average speed enforcement with Objective Corporation

A Objective Corporation Case Study

Preview of the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) Case Study

New South Wales Roads and Maritime Services

NSW Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) needed to rapidly introduce a reliable average speed enforcement system across 25 highway zones in just two years, after serious heavy-vehicle accidents prompted a new risk-based enforcement program. Objective Corporation, formerly Itree, was already a long-term technology partner and was engaged to redevelop the Safe-T-Cam® software platform and related services for the new enforcement requirements.

Objective Corporation delivered a custom-built solution that processed images and data from multiple camera suppliers and road sensors, integrated with existing hardware, and used rigorous validation to meet evidentiary standards for court use. The rollout was completed on time and within budget, helped RMS expand the platform over time, improved procurement flexibility through a vendor-agnostic approach, and contributed to a system that research links to a 50% reduction in serious crashes following average speed enforcement.
