A Objective Corporation Case Study

Middlesbrough Council improves access to information and collaboration across departments

Middlesbrough Council, a local authority serving the people of Middlesbrough, needed a better corporate approach to information management to support its 2020 vision and improve service delivery while meeting tighter financial constraints. The council was struggling with information spread across shared drives, personal folders and email stores, creating duplication, poor accessibility, weak governance and compliance risks. Objective Corporation provided its Objective ECM solution to help address these issues.

Objective Corporation implemented Objective ECM as a central corporate information repository, integrated with systems such as Liquidlogic and Microsoft Office, with workflows and scanning support to manage both structured and unstructured information. The rollout began in Children’s Services and expanded across the council, onboarding 1,200 users within 12 months and progressing toward more than 2,000 users. Results included a single source of truth, improved collaboration and visibility, automated processes such as FOI and procurement requests, reduced storage needs through digitisation, and better legal and information governance compliance.
