Eradicating a building approval backlog with automated batch stamping

Renfrewshire Council worked with Objective Corporation to address a growing backlog in issuing building warrant approvals, caused by manual processes across more than 1,400 building applications a year. The delays created customer enquiries and complaints, and the council wanted a more automated way to work smarter and improve service delivery.

Objective Corporation implemented Objective Trapeze for batch stamping of building warrant applications, integrated with the council’s case management and document management systems. The solution eliminated a three-week backlog during the trial, reduced stamping time from 8.5 hours to 6–7 minutes, and saved 25–30 days of officer time each year while improving accuracy and speeding up approvals for customers.
