Zurich Airport Brazil improves passenger experience at Macaé Airport with Oasys Software’s 3-step simulation

Zurich Airport Brazil faced the challenge of upgrading Macaé Airport to accommodate increasing passenger demand and improve the overall passenger experience for a variety of traveler types. They commissioned Oasys Software and used its Oasys MassMotion pedestrian simulation software to model and analyze passenger movement in the new terminal design.

The solution involved creating a detailed 3D microsimulation model from BIM data to identify potential problem areas during the design phase. Oasys MassMotion's flexibility allowed the team to simulate complex operational protocols and test different layouts, which led to an optimized design that improved passenger flow and operational flexibility. The new terminal, planned to be operational by the end of 2023, was designed to maximize throughput and passenger comfort.
